Find out what makes you happy and do more of that. Find out what makes you unhappy and eliminate it or at least minimize it.
The first step is if you don't know what makes you happy, you will need to spend plenty of time determining what it is.
If you have a serious problem, what are some ideas on how to solve it. What would it take solve it.
What types of actions make you happy.
What are things that you do that involve other people?
What are things that you do alone?
What did you used to do that you enjoyed, that you don't do now?
What do you catch yourself daydreaming about?
If you had unlimited money and time, what would you do?
What are things you could see yourself adding into your current lifestyle?
Focus on doing things that make you happy. Use your spare time to determine what this is. How do you want your life to go? What do you want to do more of? What do you do that you really hate that you need to end? What extreme problems do you need to end?
Your happiness can go up dramatically as you start to make these changes.
Sometimes if you can end something really bad, really negative, like a bad marriage, a bad job, a bad situation you are in or the place you live, the opening up of your life will allow the space to open your eyes to the possibilities.
Being miserable closes you down so everything looks tough or even impossible.
It is critical that you don't listen to anyone who says happiness is not important.
What Makes You Happy Here Are Some of the Things That Make Me Happy
Taking Care of Myself
Plenty of sleep. 7 to 9 hours a night. Multiple naps throughout the week as needed.
Being active. Walking quite a bit each week. Short walks and long walks. Hiking in nature as I can. Swimming in summer. Getting up from my chair and moving around throughout the work day.
Supplementing. Vitamin D, C, Fish Oil, Creatine, BCAA's, Magnesium, Iodine and Multi-Vitamins.
Sunning. I prefer to call it sunning, rather than tanning. Having a good looking tan has been so stigmatized, you cannot even say it anymore. My research shows that people who get outside long enough and often enough to get some color (a tan) seem to be much healthier. The lack of sunshine in wintertime causes the lack of Vitamin D that contributes to severe flu and cold symptoms. Plus, getting in the sun long enough just makes you feel good. Obviously avoid sun burns and overdoing it.t
Carnivore emphasis eating.
Weight Training as my main exercise to increase my strength, build my muscles, flatten my belly, lean my face, look sexier and feel better.
Reducing Stress
Controlling my finances. Paying bills early so they are not on my mind, chunking down debts to increase spendable cash, building up savings for unforeseen events and building investments for my future.
Sitting around with my feet up.
NEVER watching Mainstream news on TV.
NEVER watching Local news on TV.
Poking fun at people who take things too seriously.
I prefer to get my news from people who share some of my view of the world and appreciate the effort they put in to better inform me and you. My favorites are Scott Adams, Mike Cernovich and James Altucher.
Always focusing on making my life better.
Making Notes in My Journal of Major Issues to Avoid
Eating excessive sugar such as at Christmastime or big gatherings and getting seriously ill a few days to a week later. I have had some very severe influenza after gorging on the delicious junk food.
Too much heavy drinking and late nights in a row causing a similar flu issue.
Overdoing physical work and suffering for weeks or longer with sore muscles and illness. Moving and helping others with big projects have hurt me severely in the past.
Eating too many carbs and getting bloated.
Too much sun.
Using too much weight training volume.
Doing Fun Things as Much as I Can
Travel is my favorite thing.
