If you can slow down a little bit, or maybe a lot of bit, your life will get a lot easier.
It's tempting to always rush, put the pedal to the metal. Do more. Get more done. Get there faster. Rush, rush, rush. Hurry, hurry, hurry.
But if that's your life, is that making it better? Do you enjoy living that way?
You could slow most things associated with your life except your happiness. If something is not making you happy, you need to be in a hurry to change it. But often being in a rush and having to hurry all the time is causing your unhappiness.
You get up at the last second and rush to get ready for work and hustle off to work, driving at fast as possible to get there on time.
With the current coronavirus issue happening now, many of us are being forced to slow down. And I think, many of us are starting to like it.
Quote from a friend on Facebook -
"After the last couple of days I have finally found something I am good at...doing nothing."
Why not get up much earlier, make some fresh coffee, and spend an hour or two in your comfortable clothes, in your comfortable home reading online articles or watching videos that you carefully choose to enrich your life?
And if you don't have comfortable clothes and a comfortable home that should be one of the first things you fix.
What you should be in a hurry for is to determine what is wrong with your life and then make plans to fix it.
Often what makes our lives so rushed and so unpleasant is getting pushed into taking on enormous responsibility for things that we do not even want.
College. Sports. Activities. Groups. Committees. Careers. Marriages. Pets. Homes. Children.
Slow down on all these. All these things can be great if you truly desire them. All of them can easily wreck your life if you don't.
Don't be in such a hurry to make enormous commitments.
If you can just live in detachment without taking on huge responsibilities until you are ready, your chance of a great life is magnified.
This is time to slow down. The time to speed up will come.
To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn,
And a time to every purpose under heaven,
A time to be born, a time to die,
A time to plant, a time to reap,
A time to kill, a time to heal,
A time to laugh, a time to weep,
To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn,
And a time to every purpose under heaven,
A time to build up, a time to break down,
A time to dance, a time to mourn,
A time to cast away stones,
A time to gather stones together,
To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn,
And a time to every purpose under heaven,
A time of love, a time of hate,
A time of war, a time of peace,
A time that you may embrace,
A time to refrain from embracing,
To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn,
And a time to every purpose under heaven,
A time to gain, a time to lose,
A time to rend, a time to sow,
A time for love, a time for hate,
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late,
It's not too late, turn, turn, turn, it's not too late.
It's not too late, turn, turn, turn, it's not too late.
It's nice to slow down. It doesn't have to be a bad thing. There will be a time to speed up.
A time to refrain from embracing,
So, do your part, do your social distancing. This too shall pass.
The only way I could become the happier man I am today was by leaving my wife. You might be in the same situation I was in. I suggest you take a look at my book - Leave Your Wife & Become a Happier Man with the 3 Step System.
